Invasion aus dem Westend

A proposal for a public space in Munich, Germany. The area of the Munich trade fair has been transformed into a new housing area, and the “Railway Cover Structure” has been declared as a public park. In order to meet the complexity of the given situation, we cooperated with an architect, an urban planner and a landscape architect. The starting point was our definition of the public urban space as a place, where different users can express different needs in an ongoing process of negotiation. We proposed a framework, using mainly the already existing structures, leaving the completion up to the users. Electricity, water and light was brought to the site via supply units, basic needs were satisfied via vending machines. Our proposal underwent the budget on 1 Mio. Euro and we proposed to invest the money into a fund to finance the further development of the site.
