The genre of porcelain table sculptures, derives from the courtly tradition of a “pièce de la conversation”, where these objects introduced a dinner’s conversation theme. While the tire shapes bring up im/mobility, the leaves of the Ailanthus (Tree of Heaven or colloquially Ghetto palm) represent the post-industrial landscape and neglect in our urban spaces.
